Places like the Czech Republic and Hungary seemed to get past that a little more quickly, but those places that are further away from western Europe and that have not been such a draw for tourism have been slower to change. The good news is: if you know their cousin Georgi, they treat you like family and you've never met a more accommodating group of people. You just need to get that first introduction, though - otherwise, it's the cold shoulder.
