Yes, I now have some more free time. Saturday was my last day of work at The Container Store and I celebrated by partying like it was 1999.
The partying was helped by the fact that there was a going-away party for two of Shawn’s A-100 classmates, so I didn’t have to drink alone. The theme of the party was “come dressed representing your new country” and I have some pretty awesome pictures of Shawn and I. But I’m a little worried about putting them on the internet in case some Ukrainian spies come across them and subsequently put us on some sort of “most wanted” list. So I’ll just have to print out copies and you’ll have to come visit me in Kyiv if you want to see them!
Russian classes are still going, of course, so I’m still pretty busy. But I get my weekends back now and we’re heading to New York City this weekend. Somehow we’ve never been there before (besides a quick run through JFK), so we’re going to try and see as much as possible in 48 hours. We’re staying at a hotel on Times Square, so there should be plenty to keep us occupied.
Right now we’re holding our breath in anticipation of the “Storm of the Century” that’s supposed to hit later tonight. The weather hasn’t been too bad so far this winter and we could really use a snow day (or two). Keep your fingers crossed!

Seeing those pictures sound like a good reason to come and visit!
Is that snow another way of getting you acclimated to where you’ll be going?
