I found time this afternoon to go to our nearest public library and get my DC library card. It’s a pretty small library, which is a bummer since we lived near an awesome library last time we were in the area, but I still managed to find 4 books to read and one craft book to peruse. The good thing about being two years behind in books is that you don’t have to fight everyone to get the newest ones.
In other news, we’ve heard about our housing in Nassau. We are lucky enough to be getting a house! With a yard…and a pool! Some of the things we’ve been told about our house does make me a little nervous, though. Like the fact that there are apparently wild dogs running around the neighborhood, in addition to the guard dogs that everyone has in their yards to prevent break-ins. Great. Laika’s going to love that. And the spare bedrooms are small and completely full of furniture. Which makes me wonder exactly where I’m going to be able to set up my sewing machines. I really don’t want to have to go back to the days of sewing on the kitchen table. It’s just not very efficient to have to take down my workspace every time we need to eat.
But I’m sure that once we get there and get settled, things will be amazing. I mean, a pool? I’m really not sure how we were that lucky.

Maybe you could “bunk” the beds and furniture from one bedroom into the other bedroom! Should be attractive.
