As we get settled, it seems like not much of any excitement is going on. We did go to our first movie in The Bahamas today, which was rather exciting. The fact that they show first-run American movies (in English) at all is more than we’re used to. And to top that off, the prices aren’t even bad – $6 per ticket, and I think we only spent $10-ish at the concession stand. So even though things are “boring,” here are some pictures I took of downtown Nassau last week:

A police officer directing traffic. This seems to just be set up for the tourists…they use the stoplights most of the time.

Cruise ships are as much a part of downtown as any buildings. And they’re much bigger than most buildings. The day I was downtown, a Disney cruise ship was at the dock. (Hence the Mickey logo on the red smokestacks.)

This made me giggle. But good advice, especially in a country where AIDS is a real problem.
Okay, that’s it for today. I’ll try to be back later in the week with pictures of all my completed craft projects. I’ve been productive now that I have the sewing machines up and running!
